Army Major Harrison Mann, an active-duty officer with the U.S. Army, publicly announced his resignation on Monday from the Defense Intelligence Agency and US Army over US policy on Gaza―the latest official to leave their post in protest of the Biden administration’s continued support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
“The policy that has never been far from my mind for the past six months”, wrote Mann, “is the nearly unqualified support for the government of Israel, which has enabled and empowered the killing and starvation of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians. As we were recently reminded, this unconditional support also encourages reckless escalation that risks wider war.”
