The IDF Twitter account today posted a video declaring at 10:49AM CT that:
Operational Update: Hamas terrorist funds found inside Shifa Hospital. Along with the funds themselves were notes thanking the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists for their “good work”. Watch and see for yourselves:
The only problem is that the IDF video attached to the tweet shows the exact opposite.
The video does shows that the IDF broke into the Al-Shifa’s hospital safe and removed its cash. But the contents in question shown on the video are two envelopes marked as HAMAS and Islamic Jihad donations to the hospital.
The IDF’s own English subtitles in the video makes that crystal clear:
Original tweet
Even many of the pro-Palestinian responses didn’t notice what the IDF had done
The bigger the lie, the less people recognize it as a lie and try to engage with it on other levels. What’s super sad about this one is that even the pro-Palestinian responses to the IDF’s tweet demonstrate, while many correctly guess that the post is “lies”, that they haven’t bothered reading closely what the English subtitles actually say.
Multiple responses attack the find as “staged” and the money “planted”. Israel didn’t bother staging it in this case, instead they just told everyone that white was black and no one, even pro-Palestinian accounts, were reading it closely enough to notice.
Such is the power of gaslighting, in this case genocide gaslighting.
Amplifiers of this particularly weak propaganda designed to present hospitals as legitimate military targets
