Middle East Eye published a video posted by Twitter user @yankicoen on 30 January 2023 (original in Hebrew embedded below) depicting an Israeli soldier forcing detained Palestinians on a bus to repeat a humiliating narrative in Hebrew, pledging slavery to his family. Middle East Eye reports:
“A video circulating online has sparked outrage as it purportedly shows a soldier coercing blindfolded detainees into pledging themselves as slaves. The Palestinian men were forced to praise the family and say that they want ‘to work for them in sewage and gardening’.”
“We want to be slaves of the Azolai family forever and ever.” Some online users have stated that the Azolai family is the soldier’s family.
The soldier walks up and down the bus. One of the blindfolded men in the video, apparently perceived by the soldier as not particularly enthusiastic, is forced to repeatedly say a phrase until the soldier is satisfied.
