+972 Magazine was founded in 2010 as an independent, online, nonprofit magazine run by a group of Palestinian and Israeli journalists. Local Call was established in 2014 by +972 Mag to promote citizen journalism, by Just Vision (a team of filmmakers, journalists, storytellers and human rights advocates), and by photographer collective Activestills.
On 30 November 2023, +972 Magazine and Local Call published a groundbreaking investigation into Israel’s bombing of Gaza, titled:

Permissive airstrikes on non-military targets and the use of an artificial intelligence system have enabled the Israeli army to carry out its deadliest war on Gaza, a +972 and Local Call investigation reveals.
