Here’s a normal headline about an event taking place during a war:

Who, What, Where, When, Why? The five W’s of writing, the five questions that good journalists seek to answer in every report. What has happened with the BBC News?

I understand very well that the BBC’s coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict has been terrible in the past but the sheer lengths it is going, during the current war, to avoid addressing Israel’s obvious ethnic cleansing of Gaza and blatant genocide of Gazans is quite something to behold.

In this article, I am going to rewrite some recent BBC headlines to demonstrate actual fake news in action.

Rewrite: “South Africa files ICJ case invoking the Genocide Convention against Israel”

Rewrite: “Israel’s War on Gaza: Palestinian girl shows aftermath of Israeli bombing of neighbor’s house into rubble”

Rewrite: “Israeli army ethnically cleanses Palestinians from Central Gaza”

Rewrite: “Israeli bomb strikes near hospital overwhelms capacity, terrorises Gazans”

Rewrite: “Israeli air force strikes refugee camps, killing dozens of Palestinians; Israeli army enters Central Gaza”
